Another of our current projects includes a series of five "Spirit Women"...each inspired from the Sonoran Desert surrounding Tucson, Arizona.
Moon Maiden was the first to emerge. Being a part of Night in the desert with the sweep of milky moon glow amid the spangle of stars is a special gift. Corn Woman arrived cloaked in her life sustaining colors of gold and amber. She was quickly followed by Lady of the Sun in all her flaming, tempestuous burn. Next, Rain Woman was born of the monsoon clouds rolling in over the desert expanses and deluging the parched earth amid booms of thunder and cracks of lightening. The last to emerge was La Mujer de Nopal--Woman of the Prickly Pear, a native cactus with spectacular blooms, sharp needles and tasty edible "pads".
Our desert home is often a study in contradictions and extremes. Sharp spines, delicate blossoms. Drenching rains, blistering heat. Spectacular sunsets, gentle winters. May these Spirit Women entice you to visit our truly unique and precious Sonoran Desert!
